The World of René

Okay, I admit I have some pet peeves. One of them is this: When I go to the store, e.g. Albertson’s, I park like everyone else and go inside, regardless of how much stuff I have to haul back to the car afterwards. However, there is apparently a very special breed of people who think a red curb right in front of the store means nothing other than “park here until your lazy ass girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse has run into the store to get some small item”. So they sit there in their car right in front of the store, blocking traffic, until their partner comes back, puts whatever he/she has purchased into the trunk and then they calmly drive off.

So what’s wrong with this picture? Are they special? Why can’t they park like everyone else instead of blocking traffic? Even the handicapped have to park a little further away and walk to the store. This kind of behavior drives me up the wall!

Sometimes I wish they got a ticket for this display of ignorance/arrogance. Other times I wish I had the guts to go there and yell at them myself or honk till they move. I hate egocentric people who think certain rules don’t apply to them.

Don’t you?
