Okay, maybe I’m not quite as indestructible as I thought. I had an interesting little episode last weekend in which my heart decided to go quite irregular on me and vary the heart rate rapidly between 82 to 117. The heart rate monitor kept sounding alarms a couple of times every minute. Felt like I had an alien thumping in my chest that wanted to get out. Not such a good weekend. Timing also sucked as I was to leave for Toronto Monday morning.

At least the medication worked and after 13 hrs, my heart returned to normal. Not bad, considering the alternative was electroshocks through a defibrillator.

The guys at Irvine Medical Center were pretty nice though. I even got scrambled egg for breakfast. Unfortunately such impromptu weekend getaways aren’t inexpensive, to say the least.

I’m fine now and hopefully there won’t be more of such scares in the future. And I did make it Toronto after all...
